Kanu to sign deal next week
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is confident that Kanu will finally put pen to paper on a new contract next week.
The Nigerian striker was linked with a return to Ajax and speculation increased on his future at Fratton Park, following the arrivals of David Nugent and John Utaka.
Chief executive Peter Storrie has negociated a deal with Kanu’s representatives and it’s expected that he will sign the deal when they return from the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.
“We’ve been speaking to him for several weeks and Peter Storrie has managed to thrash out a deal with his agent and with Kanu, and I’m sure he’s going to sign a new contract next week,” Harry Redknapp said.
“He’ll sign for one year with an option for a second if he plays 20 games. That’s the deal Peter’s put to his people and they’ve accepted that.”

I’m just happy that he’ll be staying with us.

I wouldn’t care if he left. What do you lot think?
