Redknapp joy at double deal

Portsmouth - Harry RedknappPortsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has expressed his delight after completing the double deal of David Nugent and John Utaka.

Nugent has moved to Fratton Park for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £6million from Preston. Utaka who is a Nigerian international and joined from Rennes and both players have signed four-year deals.

“Will he score goals in the Premier League? I’m sure he will,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports News.

“I think he’s got what it takes to become a top, top player and a top striker. I’m delighted to have him here.”

Redknapp added on Utaka, who is a striker: “John’s an exciting player and one of many terrific African players,”

“We’ve had plenty of competition from other English clubs, but he’s stayed true to his word.

“I’m delighted to have the pair of them. I think they’re going to give us an awful lot this year.

“We may be looking to getting another player in. We’re delighted with the business we’ve done.”
